Sicily Island, located in southern Italy, is the place chosen for immortal scenes in the “Godfather” trilogy.

After the success of the Godfather movie , many Sicilian travel agencies organized tours to visit places that were once chosen as the setting. Devotees of the film are not difficult to recognize Savoca, a beautiful village located on a hillside, east of Sicily Island. This place was chosen to make romantic scenes about the love of Michael Corleone and his first wife, Apollonia. Currently the village attracts a huge number of visitors.

When visiting the village, visitors come across the Vitelli Bar, where Michael asked permission of the owner – the father of Apollonia, to organize the engagement ceremony for the two. The bar is a stone house built in the 18th century. Inside, the house still retains images and memorabilia of the film crew when shooting footage of the Godfather .

The Church of San Nicolo is the setting for the wedding of Michael Corleone and Appollonia. In the movie, the couple descends the slope outside the church, followed by family and band.

Forza D’agro Village also appeared in many scenes of the Godfather trilogy . Coming here, visitors will see small stone roads and some churches, real locations in movie films.

The Sant Agostino Cathedral in Forza D’agro appears in Part I of the film, when Michael first arrives in Corleone with his bodyguards. In Part II, the church was filmed in the context of Vito – Michael’s father, fled to the United States, under the intense pursuit of Don Ciccio (ruler of the village of Corleone, who killed Vito’s father).

Located in the center of Palermo, the Teatro Massimo Theater is the place where the last scene of the Godfather movie was filmed , when Michael Corleone’s son performed an opera, and his daughter died on the doorstep. Teatro Massimo first opened in 1897 and is one of the largest opera houses in Europe.

Degli Schiavi Castle appeared in Part I and Part II of the film, in the scene of a car explosion after Michael’s wedding.

Taormina is a town on the east coast of Messina Province, Sicily. Taormina Station appears in the scene of Michael Corleone and his second wife, Kay Adams, to the village of Corleone. This location was filmed to replace the real village of Corleone, which has a high crime rate and is not suitable for filming.

La Limonaia villa was built in the first half of the 18th century in Catania city, Sicily island. In Godfather III, La Limonaia was chosen to be home to the antagonist Altobello, Michael’s old friend.
