Thai photographer Karn Samanvorawong records the majestic, spectacular view at Lake Baikal through the Galaxy S10 + lens.

Lake Baikal in southern Siberia is the largest freshwater lake, and is the deepest and oldest lake on Earth. The name Baikal in Arabic means “Sea of lakes and countless tears”. Through the trio of high-quality lenses of the Galaxy S10 + smartphone, this famous landmark appears, full of charm like heaven on earth.

Winter Baikal has the appearance of another planet. The blue sky seemed to extend with the deep blue water silent under the thick ice.

The lake is located in a rift valley, formed by the Baikal fault zone, where the earth’s crust is separated. Therefore, the terrain here is special, especially in the winter, although the soil becomes arid, the photographer turns that aridity into art when combined with the golden sunshine.

Russians often call Baikal “sea lake” and voted it as one of its seven wonders. Despite the cold, the ice at Lake Baikal becomes a very special art. The wide-angle lens from the photographer’s equipment and frame selection technique has recreated the majestic scenery that many people dream of once touching.

When not freezing, Lake Baikal water is also very pure, containing very few minerals. When winter comes, the frozen water allows walking on the lake. The golden sunlight sweeping on the pure water also creates an impressive sight.

Close to Lake Baikal is the small town of Irkutsk. It houses one of the most beautiful orthodox churches in Russia, also known as the “Red Church”.
